Psalms, Book Five (Psalms 107-150)

The “steadfast love of the LORD endures forever” and shows up in psalm after psalm in Book 5 of Psalms.

How can God’s covenantal love, his unique redeeming love, affect us in the normal patterns of life? Our conflicts, trials, troubles, and tensions of life do not have the final word for us. God’s love and good providence does. These Psalms illustrate that. And one word, used over and over, highlights the way saints in glory and saints in worship in the midst of spiritual warfare respond to God’s active love: Hallelujah—praise YHWH (the LORD)!! What goes into that shout? What’s the background that leads up to it? How are they viewing the common trials and pressures of life that yields such a victorious disposition?

In this class Al and Rick will teach a different Psalm each week from this section of the Psalms. They’ll highlight the experiences of believers and the reasons they have to trust God’s “steadfast love”.

Join us we discuss the Psalms every Sunday in the main sanctuary beginning at 9:45 am.
