Isaiah Sunday School

The book of Isaiah is often called the Gospel of the Old Testament; it is full of Messianic prophecies, especially in the Servant Songs in the latter part of the book, and is quoted more often in the New Testament than any book except Psalms.  Given the length of the book, we obviously will not be able to cover the entire work; we will instead focus on selected chapters that give us insight into Isaiah’s ministry as God’s chosen mouthpiece in a time of great tumult, his message to the people of his own day, his prophetic word to the generation taken captive in Babylon, and the Messianic passages that point toward the saving work of Christ.  This study should encourage us as we see a faithful man of God speaking truth in a society that had largely turned against the worship of the Lord, examples of God’s faithfulness to His promises, and the ultimate fulfillment of His covenant with His people in the coming of Jesus Christ to bring about the salvation that was and is the only hope for a lost world.  Join us as we discuss together this vital message from the Old Testament.

This class will be taught by Pastor Bob Walton starting on January 8, 2017, meeting every Sunday at 9:45am in the Sanctuary.
